Gold & the Shop
Gold is Sproutville’s currency, and you start with a little to get going. This page covers how you earn it and how to use Clover’s general store.
Starting gold
Section titled “Starting gold”Every new player begins with 50 gold. That’s enough to buy your first batch of starter seeds and get your farm running.
How you earn gold
Section titled “How you earn gold”You earn gold by selling what you gather and by completing the daily quest:
- Crops — harvested from your Farm plots.
- Fish — caught at the Beach.
- Wood — chopped from trees in Town.
- Stone and gems — mined in the Quarry.
- Daily quest — deliver the requested item to Pip’s notice board for a gold reward.
You sell items to NPC vendors by clicking them. Different vendors pay different prices, so it pays to know who to sell to — see Vendors for the best deals.
Clover’s general store
Section titled “Clover’s general store”Clover runs the general store in Town. This is your home base for buying and selling:
- Buy the 6 starter seeds — Turnip, Carrot, Potato, Strawberry, Pumpkin, and Corn. These are the early-game crops that unlock as your Farming level rises.
- Sell your harvest at base price — Clover buys any crop at its base sell value.
Clover’s prices are the baseline. For example, Maple (the Town botanist) buys crops at a higher rate, so Clover is best for buying seeds while specialist vendors are best for selling. See the full breakdown in Vendors.
