Controls & Settings
Sproutville is played with the keyboard and mouse. Here’s everything you need to move around, interact, and keep things running smoothly.
Movement
Section titled “Movement”| Action | Keys |
|---|---|
| Walk | WASD or arrow keys |
| Run | Hold Shift |
| Jump | Space |
Interacting with the world
Section titled “Interacting with the world”Click an object to interact with it — a garden plot, a tree, a fishing spot, a stone node, an NPC, and so on.
You need to be close to interact: roughly 3.5 world units away. If a click doesn’t seem to do anything, walk up closer first.
While an action is playing, you’ll see a “Working…” badge and a progress cursor, and your character stays rooted in place with a tool gesture until it finishes.
Note: right-click is disabled across the whole site.
Action durations
Section titled “Action durations”Each timed action takes a fixed amount of time:
| Action | Duration |
|---|---|
| Chop (tree) | 1.1s |
| Mine stone | 1.2s |
| Mine gem | 1.3s |
| Fish | 1.3s |
| Plant | 0.7s |
| Water | 0.8s |
| Harvest | 0.7s |
Traveling between maps
Section titled “Traveling between maps”There’s no travel menu. To change maps, walk to the edge of the map and click a wooden travel sign. These connect the four maps — see Town for where you’ll usually start.
Quality setting
Section titled “Quality setting”In the bottom-right corner there’s a ⚙️ Quality toggle that switches between High and Low.
- High — full visuals.
- Low — disables post-processing and shadows and caps the resolution. It runs faster and keeps your GPU cooler, which is handy on lower-end machines or laptops.
Flip to Low any time the game feels heavy.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Town — your social hub and starting area.
- Skills overview — what all those interactions level up.
