World Chat
Sproutville has a global World chat so you can talk to everyone playing in your World. This page covers how it works and its limits.
How chat works
Section titled “How chat works”Open the chat with the 💬 World button and type a message. What you send appears as a speech bubble above your character’s head, so other nearby players can see who’s talking.
Chat is global to your World, meaning everyone in your World sees your messages — not just players on the same map.
Limits and rules
Section titled “Limits and rules”A few rules keep chat readable and spam-free:
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Message length | Up to 200 characters per message |
| Anti-spam delay | At least ~0.5s between messages |
| History kept | The last 100 messages |
| Saved? | No — messages are ephemeral and never saved |
Because chat is ephemeral, it’s a place for live conversation, not a record you can scroll back through later.
Ambient chatter
Section titled “Ambient chatter”You may also see chatter from NPCs around Town and the other maps. This ambient chatter adds life to the world and is separate from real players’ messages.
Where chat reaches
Section titled “Where chat reaches”Chat follows your World, so the people you talk to are the same players you share Town and Beach with. To learn how Worlds and player counts work, see Worlds & Players.
